Prayer Request

A couple of months ago the F.C.C. sent out a list of frequencies that they wanted to get into operation.  One of the frequencies is 105.3 FM, located in St. Marys, West Virginia. St. Marys is about 24 miles northwest of West Union.  Knowing that someone would be awarded the license, and knowing the increase of the potential listening population this would add for Gospel outreach, I felt the need to apply for this license.  The first report has revealed that we are tied in points with Parkersburg Catholic Schools Foundation.  The F.C.C. will have to rule in this matter based on other factors.  Please pray that we will be awarded this frequency for the sake of the Gospel.

Office Update

The remodeling stage of the office has progressed very well.  We are at 95% to completion.  Some electrical wiring is needed to get the offices and studios workable.  Then we will be ready to install the equipment for the studios.  All my time and effort has been given to raise the funds needed to remodel and equip the offices and studios.  This has left the apartment part of the project progressing very slowly.  I need this in a very urgent way.  It will allow me to provide housing for radio staff.

I have made a list of the materials needed to complete the apartment.  Maybe you can help by sponsoring a project or helping with labor.  Your prayers are appreciated.

If you have any questions please call the office at 304 873-2225.

Radio Business Blessings

  1. February of this year we submitted out antenna pattern to three different companies: Shivley, Jampro, ERI.  Each manufacturer denied our antenna pattern because of the severe restrictions to the south.  Our original construction permit granted us permission for a directional antenna (primarily north and west) at 185 ft. at 4,700 watts.

Martin Gibbs of Karatek Int. Kennewick, WA has partnered with me to assist us in getting the station on the air.  Bro Gibbs recommended we have a new study performed.  The new study revealed that the competing stations to the south had been denied a grant; this has opened up area we would not have had the opportunity to reach.  The studies can be seen at www.ktekint.org click on the project link.  Bro. Joey Wells of Church Planters of America our initial engineer had foreseen this.  The new study has revealed that we will be able to go higher up on the tower to 315 ft and reduce the power to 1,300 watts with non-directional antenna (omni-directional pattern).  With an FM signal, antenna height is one of the biggest factors.  These changes will drastically reduce the cost of the antenna and also significantly trim operating cost but cover more area and reach a larger potential listening audience than our initial plans.  Praise the Lord.  An amendment has been filed with the F.C.C. for these adjustments.  Please keep us in your prayers.  The equipment, the professional installers and labor cost we are about to face are expensive but absolutely necessary.

The Lord’s blessing has been evident at the very beginning of this faith project.  If you want to get in on the blessing, keep us in your prayers and if the Lord leads help us financially.  No offering is too small.

  1. www.wvgvradio.com is up and going.  Thank you for checking it out.  Thank you Jonathan Slabaugh for your fine Web Design work.

The Founders’ Club

The FC was started to get WVGV up and going.  An enormous amount of progress has occurred, Praise the Lord.  I am very grateful to everyone who sacrificially gave to help with the initial cost from the purchasing of the building to the present.  The studios are almost complete.  Carpet, cabinets, and office furnishings are all that is needed to complete the studio.  The first of August I will announce our next campaign; prayerfully this will take us to the final turning on the switch.

The Founders’ Club will be open till the end of July; if you would still like to participate it would certainly be a big blessing to us.  All financial contributions are tax deductible.  Below are the four levels of giving:

            Bronze            $250.00

                        Silver              $500.00

            Gold                $1000.00

Platinum         $5,000.00

Every participants name will be added to a beautiful plaque to be displayed in the studio of WVGV.  For more information please call the office at 304 873-1049.

Wish List:

  1. Office furniture for two offices
  2. Full size 4×4 pick-up truck
  3. Emergency generator

Praise the Lord, Glory to God, Hallelujah, Amen, Amen, Amen!

We have obtained our Construction Permit from the FCC to build a radio station in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in North Central West Virginia.

Our call sign is WVGV.   (West Virginia’s Gospel Voice)

We have secured a building to be used for the main office.

104 Sistersville Pike (Rt. 18 North)
West Union, WV 26546

There is not another station like it within 60 miles.

Local and internet listeners will be able to hear the following:

  • A down-home station with a heart for America in the the heart of America
  • Old-time KJV preachers of the past along with anointed, true-to-the-Word preachers of today
  • God-honoring, soul-stirring, heart-warming music
  • And as a token of my love and appreciation to Dr. Joe Boyd and his ministry, I will be reviving a radio program he had years ago named Strength for Today

In order to make all of this possible, I need your help.

Inaugurating: WVGV FOUNDERS CLUB

The contributions received by the FOUNDERS CLUB will go to purchase and remodel the building and grounds of the main office for WVGV.

There are four ways in which you can help:

  Platinum - $5,000.00 or more
  Gold - $1,000.00
  Silver - $500.00
  Bronze - $250.00
